Set to begin in early September, this professional development opportunity is designed for aspiring leaders in the outdoor recreation industry. ​Students have the option to either participate in a full cohort experience with outdoor recreation professionals from private industry, nonprofit, and public sectors or take one course at a time, at their own pace.
The 9-month program includes:
Multi-day virtual orientation
Foundations of the Outdoor Recreation Economy (FORE101) self-paced course
Five instructor-led, online courses in:
Fundamentals of leadership
Communication, community, and consensus
Organizational change and development
Diversity, equity, and inclusion
Mission, vision and goals setting
Participation in multiple self-assessments, and professional goal-setting sessions
Industry expert sessions and a mentor network
Cohort program only: professional coaching, final project, and invitation to a week-long retreat in Bend, Oregon
